About Men at Work Lawncare

Noon at the Y in Oak Hill in the middle of summer: cicadas going full tilt in the cedars, the asphalt soft, shade thin and moving. Men at Work Lawncare is out on the hill streets around there while most folks are indoors with the blinds pulled — mowing tall so the roots stay covered, edging the drives back sharp, trimming close where the grass runs up against limestone outcrop and mailbox posts. Beds cleared, walks blown, gates shut. Cutting grass in Central Texas heat is honest labor and there's no trick that gets around it, only doing it right and early enough. Come evening the yard is even, and nobody had to spend their afternoon out in it.
