Longhorn Lawns

About Longhorn Lawns

Late August around the campus streets is a particular kind of loud — moving trucks double-parked on Duval, Waller Creek running low and shaded, everybody arriving at once into ninety-eight degrees. Longhorn Lawns works those blocks and the houses around them through the hottest stretch of the calendar, cutting high so the turf can hold its own, edging the walks back where the summer let them go soft, trimming the strip between sidewalk and curb that nobody else claims. Beds get weeded out and the leaf and litter drift gets cleared off the porch and drive. Rental blocks and old family houses sit side by side up here, and both look better with a straight edge on them. That's the whole job, done every week without a fuss.
