About Kevin Wood Landscapes

West of the city the land stands up on its hind legs — cedar and limestone shelving down toward the water, yards built in terraces because flat ground had to be invented. Kevin Wood Landscapes works those Westlake and Rollingwood slopes in the low gold of a winter afternoon, when the live oaks stay green and everything else has gone quiet and structural. Mowing on the grade, edging the stone borders, trimming the beds back so the shape of the planting shows again, shrubs cut to the form they're meant to hold. Hill ground never gives you a straight run at anything; you work with the ledge you're handed. Done right, a terraced yard out here reads like the hillside always meant to be that way.
