About Dr. Tex Lawn & Pest

A lawn in late-summer Austin will tell you what is wrong with it if you kneel down and look. Dr. Tex Lawn & Pest works that way — reading the yard first, then mowing, edging and trimming to suit what the grass is actually doing rather than what the calendar claims it should be doing. Out around Anderson Mill and the northwest hills the thin soil over rock dries from the top down, and a brown patch beside the driveway is rarely the same trouble as one under the oaks. Cutting height, timing, and a clean blow-down of the walks do more good than most people expect them to. The reward comes in September, when the yard steps out of August still holding its color.
