About Kris and Kris Lawncare

October is the reward for an East Texas summer — mornings cool enough for a jacket, sweetgums turning red along the fence rows, grass finally slowing down. Kris and Kris Lawncare uses that stretch to get yards around Athens set right before dormancy, when what you do carries all winter. Two people on one lot fall into a rhythm fast: one laying passes on the mower, the other on the edge and the trim line, both meeting at the drive to blow it clean. Fall also means staying ahead of leaf drop under the oaks, because a mat left down through a wet week does real damage. It's plain work, and there is nothing better than backing the trailer out of a yard that finally looks finished.
