About Busy Beaver Land Management

By late August the dark blackland clay around Angus has cracked wide enough to lose a pocketknife in, and after the first real fall rain it turns to gumbo that grabs a boot. Busy Beaver Land Management takes its name from the creek's tireless builder, and the name promises the kind of head-down, keep-going energy this ground asks for. When September storms finally arrive and the grass wakes up all at once, the mowing can't wait, and neither can the trimming along drives and ditches. Angus is a small place laid out along I-45 in Navarro County, with open pasture pressing close against many yards. Keeping that land in hand is honest, unglamorous labor, and it leaves a property looking like somebody has a plan for it.
