About A-Vet Landscaping & Maintenance, Inc.

February fog sits low over Mustang Bayou and burns off about the time the first mower fires up along Bypass 35. A-Vet Landscaping & Maintenance, Inc. works Alvin yards from that first cut of the year, when St. Augustine wakes up green after a mild winter, straight into the long humid stretch that follows. The work is mowing and edging, trimming shrubs back into shape, clearing beds and laying fresh mulch, and hauling off whatever the wind and the water leave behind. There is a plain pleasure in the moment a lawn goes from shaggy to squared: the edge crisp against the walk, the clippings blown clean off the drive. Alvin hands you nearly the whole calendar to keep that up, and this crew takes it.
