About Steve Cox Enterprises

August in Alto is thick — heat sitting down in the pines, the Neches bottoms holding their humidity, thunderheads stacking most afternoons until they break. Mowing happens on the near side of that, morning into midday, with the deck set high so the turf can take the weather. Edging along walks, trimming close to posts and beds, then clearing the cuttings so nothing mats down in the wet. East Texas ground grows fast when it is fed like that, and staying ahead of it is the entire job. Alto, Rusk and the country out toward Weches make up the run.
