About Durham Services

Alma rests on the Blackland Prairie of Ellis County, where soil so dark and rich once filled the surrounding fields with cotton. That black clay swells with the spring rains and cracks wide open in the August heat, and a lawn growing on it needs steady attention to stay smooth and green. Durham Services provides that care, mowing and tending yards through the swing from soggy to sunbaked. Early on a summer morning, before the cicadas wind up, there is a cool hour when cut grass and damp earth fill the air. A yard kept even on this restless ground is a small victory over the prairie itself.
