About Allen lawn guys

The old part of Allen wakes slowly — Main Street, the clapboard houses at the Heritage Village, a mockingbird running its whole repertoire before anyone has poured coffee. That is the hour Allen lawn guys likes best: cool, early, the grass still holding dew, the mowers set before the heat has any opinion about it. Mowing, trimming around fence posts and mailbox pillars, edging the walk until the concrete shows a clean gray seam, then everything put back onto the turf where it belongs. By noon a whole block reads as one even stripe from corner to corner. Small thing. It is what makes a street feel tended.
