Coach White's Lawn Maintenance

About Coach White's Lawn Maintenance

Whitwell sits on the floor of the Sequatchie Valley with the mountain standing over it, and the sun does not reach the east side of town until well after it has risen. Coach White's Lawn Maintenance starts in that long shade, mowing, trimming and edging while the grass is still cool and standing. Valley ground is generous; things grow here with very little encouragement, which is exactly why somebody has to keep after them. The finish is what people notice from the street — an even cut, a firm border, nothing left scattered on the concrete. Then the light comes over the ridge and the whole valley turns green at once.
