About Frank Adkins Excavating Inc.

Watertown's square sits quiet under the streetlamps at four in the morning, and when snow has come in overnight it is quieter still. Frank Adkins Excavating Inc. runs plowing, clearing and salting for the drives, lots and approaches around town, so the first cars of the day find pavement instead of pack. Winter on this stretch of the Highland Rim likes to arrive sideways with a little sleet folded into it, and it sets up hard if it is left alone. Heavy iron and an early alarm are most of the answer. Standing at the end of a cleared lot at sunrise with the blade steaming — that is a whole day made possible.
