Mountainscapes

About Mountainscapes

From Vonore you can see the ridges stack up eastward, and every one of them holds its snow a little longer than the valley does. Mountainscapes handles the clearing when winter comes down off them — plowing drives and parking areas, cutting a path to the door, spreading salt on steps and walkways where ice sets in overnight. Snow doesn't stay long in this part of Monroe County, but it doesn't have to; a single cold night after a wet day can lock a driveway up entirely. The job is being ready before the forecast turns real. There's a plain kind of pride in a cleared drive at first light with the ridges still white behind it.
