The Tree Company

About The Tree Company

An ice storm in Robertson County is a beautiful, inconvenient thing — every limb sheathed in glass, the whole county glittering, and nobody able to get down their own drive. The Tree Company turns out for the aftermath in Springfield, clearing snow and ice from drives, walks and lots so people can move again. Most of it happens in the dark, headlights thrown across a white surface, salt going down where the shade will hold the freeze past noon. Middle Tennessee winter does not last long, but it arrives all at once and it stops everything until somebody clears it. Getting a Springfield drive open before the day begins is the whole satisfaction of the work.
