About Careys General Services

By December the fields along Candies Creek have gone the color of old rope, and the first real cold slides in behind a night of rain. Careys General Services handles what that weather asks for around South Cleveland — snow plowed off the driveway, the front walk opened wide enough for two people to pass, ice treated at the exact spots where a foot is most likely to go out from under someone. General work means taking the whole list, and in a Bradley County winter the list is short but urgent. The reward is a small one and it is plenty: a house that can get out to church, a shop whose door swings open onto bare concrete. When the creek bottoms are still holding frost at nine in the morning, that is the ground to see to first.
