Gordy's Stump Grinding

About Gordy's Stump Grinding

Soddy-Daisy runs long and narrow between Walden Ridge and the water, and the yards along it hold a lot of old shade, some worth keeping and some long past. Gordy's Stump Grinding takes trees down, trims what stays, then does the part everybody is actually waiting on: turning the stump into chips and a level patch you can seed over. There is a particular pleasure in a lawn where the mower can finally run straight through. Down in the hollows below the gulf the ground is rocky and the roots run wide, so the grinding is done with an eye on the fence line and the water meter. Ridge foot to lake road, that is the territory.
