1Up Excavation

About 1Up Excavation

Winter arrives in Soddy-Daisy sideways — down off Mowbray Mountain in the dark, well before anyone has thought about coffee. 1Up Excavation turns to snow work when the valley goes white, and the first pass up a steep mountain drive is the pass that decides how the whole day will go. There is real satisfaction in a lane opened down to bare gravel by the time the sky turns gray behind the ridge. Salt on the grade where the sun never quite reaches, a clean shoulder line, room enough to swing a truck around. When the plateau hands this corner of Hamilton County one of its rare heavy falls, the machines are already out in it.
