About Thorpe Lawn Care

September evenings on the older streets near downtown Shelbyville, porch lights come on early and the air finally lets go of the day's heat. Thorpe Lawn Care aims the last cut of the week for that hour, when the yards along Deery Street go quiet and even. Mowing, edging, string trimming, fertilizer and weed control through the growing season, then leaves gathered once the sycamores start dropping. A lawn in this town is a front-porch thing — it is what a neighbor looks at while the two of you talk. Keeping it worth looking at is the job, and it is honest work.
