McBee’s Tree Service

About McBee’s Tree Service

After an ice night on the mountain, first light at Sewanee is all glitter and wreckage: hemlock bowed low over the road, hardwood down across the hollows where the ground falls away toward the valley. McBee's Tree Service is out in that, opening drives one cut at a time so people can get off the mountain. Storm damage cleanup on steep ground means hauling brush out rather than shoving it over the bank. In gentler weeks comes the preventive half of the trade, pruning out the weak forks that ice finds first, trimming limbs back from roofs and wires, removing the tree that has leaned a little further toward the porch every year. The aim is a mountain yard that meets the next hard freeze without losing anything to it.
