In June the mountain laurel opens along the bluff roads, and Sewanee turns the particular green that only happens at two thousand feet. Johnson's Landscaping works in that light. Mowing on a set rhythm, trimming close around stone walls and fence posts, edging until the line between grass and gravel is a decision rather than an accident. Leaves come down hard here in late October, off oak and hickory both, and hauling them away is part of the job. A yard on the plateau ought to look like someone loves it, and that is the whole aim.
