About Five Star Services

Late June on Roan Mountain is rhododendron season, when the balds go pink and half the county drives up to look. Down along the Doe River the yards are green and steep and growing hard, and Five Star Services is in them, mowing, edging, trimming banks and walkways, clearing whatever the mountain sheds. Mountain lawns do not lie flat and do not forgive a careless pass, so the work stays patient and the finish stays honest. Cool nights at this elevation keep the grass thick well into the fall. A cut yard set against those blue ridges is a genuinely good-looking thing.
