About VFL Lawn, Inc.

August in Powell sits heavy — the air thick off the valley floor, cicadas going in the trees near the old Powell Station rail line, shade worth a dollar a square foot by two in the afternoon. VFL Lawn, Inc. keeps mowing right through it, because grass does not observe the heat index. What separates a mowed yard from a finished one is the edge: a clean, unbroken line where turf meets driveway, sidewalk and mailbox post, cut sharp enough to see from a passing car. Add the trimming, the blow-down of every clipping off the concrete, and the leaf work when the season finally breaks, and the lawn holds its shape all year. It's ordinary work, and there's pride in leaving it crisp.
