About Silver Landscaping and Construction

This is ridge-and-valley country, so a good half of Powell's yards tilt — long grades running up toward Copper Ridge, terraced by whoever built the house and left as they were ever since. Silver Landscaping and Construction takes the sloped ones in October, when the light comes in low and sideways and the hillside hardwoods start giving up their leaves in earnest. Mowing a grade is a matter of patience and line, and the trimming, edging and clearing that follow are what keep a steep yard from sliding back into brush. By the time the crew loads up, the slope reads clean from the bottom of the drive all the way to the tree line. That's the part worth doing well: a hillside in Knox County that looks tended rather than merely survived.
