About Hollon'S Mowing & Lawn Care

Sunday quiet on a country church lot outside Portland is a particular kind of quiet — gravel, cedar shade, the ground rolling off toward a hayfield. Hollon'S Mowing & Lawn Care spends its weeks in places like that as well as in town: mowing, trimming close around headstones, posts and foundations, edging the walks and clearing the cuttings away. Careful trimming is slow work and it is the part most people only notice when it has been skipped. Standing back at the end and seeing every line even, with nothing shaggy left along a fence or a stone, is the reward. Portland's grass gives you plenty of chances to earn it between March and November.
