About A&J Removal LLC

Winter comes into Portland from the north, down over the Kentucky line, and it usually arrives before the alarm clocks do. A&J Removal LLC works those hours — plow lights moving along Highway 52 while the rest of Sumner County is still dark and the fields lie blue with frost. Clearing snow and breaking ice off driveways, walks and lots is the whole of what they do, and there is a plain satisfaction in a lane opened end to end before the first car ever needs it. Up on the open ridges the wind scours the ground and packs the low spots, so one road can want two passes in a single night. What gets left behind is simple: black pavement, salted edges, and a morning that goes ahead exactly as it was planned.
