Emory Valley Road in late October is a tunnel of color, and then one windy night it is a tunnel of bare limbs and a foot of leaves on every lawn between there and Scarboro. That handoff is the busiest stretch of the year: mow while the grass still wants it, then rake, haul and clear until the turf can breathe again. Summer is the easier half, a weekly loop of cutting, trimming and edging that keeps yards looking deliberate rather than merely mowed. Winter changes the tools but not the hours — plowing driveways, opening walks and salting the shaded stretch of pavement that never quite thaws. Oak Ridge asks for all three of those, and doing each one well is the whole job.
