About Southern Lawn Services

Nashville does not get many snows, but the ones it gets arrive all at once — a still evening, then three inches on Franklin Pike by morning and a whole city holding its breath. That is when Southern Lawn Services goes to work in Berry Hill, plowing lots, shoveling walks and opening the driveways of the little converted houses that line these blocks. The mile-square city wakes up early on ordinary days; it deserves to wake up early on white ones too. The first clean stripe of pavement laid down behind the blade, with the skyline still dark to the north, is worth the alarm clock. Clear ground, before anyone needs it.
