SNOW ICE REMOVAL

About SNOW ICE REMOVAL

Four in the morning, and the ridges above Whites Creek are still holding snow the rest of Nashville has already given back to the mud. SNOW ICE REMOVAL runs when the pavement freezes — plowing driveways, clearing walkways and steps, and salting the shaded stretches where ice sits stubborn past noon. The hills off Dickerson Pike turn glassy in a Middle Tennessee ice storm, and a driveway with any grade at all becomes the whole problem of the morning. The reward is plain and immediate: bare asphalt, a scraped walk, headlights backing out on time. In a city that gets winter in short violent doses, being the one already out in it matters.
