Hodge Tree Service

About Hodge Tree Service

Mountain City stands higher than any other town in Tennessee, set in Johnson County's bowl with Iron Mountain on one side and Doe on the other, and winter arrives here weeks before it reaches the valleys below. Hodge Tree Service works straight through it, removing a hemlock that heavy wet snow has bent past straightening, trimming limbs back off metal roofs, pruning maple and apple in the still cold before the sap starts moving. High-country wind takes the tops out of white pines and lays them across gravel lanes, and clearing those lanes is what a morning is for. The crew cuts, hauls and stacks until the drive to the main road runs open. Up here that is not a convenience, it is how a person gets to town.
