Woodland Tree Service

About Woodland Tree Service

Memphis keeps its old growth in pockets, the deep forest inside Overton Park, the water oaks arching over Midtown streets, the cottonwoods holding the bluff above the Mississippi. Woodland Tree Service works among them, removing a hackberry from a narrow side yard with no room to swing, trimming to lift a canopy off a slate roof, pruning weight out of a limb before the limb makes that decision on its own. Straight-line wind coming off the river can rearrange a whole block in twenty minutes, and the days after are ropes and saws and a chipper running until the light turns orange. What gets left behind is a swept street and a yard you could cross barefoot. In a city this shaded, the work never really stops, and that is fine by everybody doing it.
