About MTD Products Inc - Main Receiving

Freight does not wait on weather. At the outdoor power equipment plant on the edge of Martin, Main Receiving is where the trucks back in, and in winter the first job of the day is making that possible. Snow and ice come off the dock aprons, the truck lanes and the employee lots — plowed, then salted, then sanded where trailers turn and grind. Northwest Tennessee can lay down a quarter inch of glaze that shuts a county down, and a receiving yard has no version of shutting down. Bare pavement, snow squared off against the fence, a lane wide enough for a fifty-three-foot trailer: that is the shape of a good morning here.
