About 731 land management

Three digits hold the whole west end of Tennessee, and 731 land management works its corner of them out of Martin. Through the growing season the work is land; when a storm slides down out of the Ohio Valley and stalls over the Obion bottoms, it becomes snow and ice. Blades on farm lanes and gravel drives, sand across a church lot, walkways opened wide enough for two people to pass — the list is short and the standard is not. Winters here are not long, but they arrive in one night and have to be answered by morning. Clearing gets done the way land does: end to end, edge to edge, nothing left to guess at.
