About Smith's Ground Force

A real snow doesn't come to Livingston often, and when it does the whole county takes note — buses idle, Highway 52 goes slow and careful, and the hills west of town stay white for a morning or two. Smith's Ground Force works those hours: plowing driveways, opening parking lots, clearing walkways and steps, spreading salt on the places that freeze back again after dark. Ice is the truer danger up here, the thin kind a plateau winter lays down under a dusting where nobody sees it. The reward is small and specific — a lot cleared before the doors open, a walk safe underfoot, somebody's morning going on as planned. Then the sun comes over the ridge and takes the rest of it.
