At four in the morning the neighborhoods between Lebanon and Mt. Juliet are absolutely still — streetlights over empty cul-de-sacs and not a track anywhere on the pavement. Hunter Scapes works that hour when snow reaches Wilson County, plowing driveways, clearing walks and entrances, and spreading salt wherever a slope or a shadow will hold ice. Snow here is fleeting and deceptive, thin enough to look harmless and slick enough to prove otherwise. Getting a street's worth of drives opened before the first car backs out is the entire ambition. By sunrise the work has gone invisible, and invisible is how it should look.
