About Weather Tamer

Snow downtown looks different — it comes sideways under the streetlights on Gay Street, gathers in the brick seams of the Old City, and by midnight the business district is quiet in a way Knoxville rarely manages. Weather Tamer is out in it, plowing lots, clearing sidewalks curb to storefront, laying salt while the temperature keeps sliding. The point of all of it is the morning: doors opening onto a swept walk, parking that works, an ordinary Tuesday nobody has to cancel. Here the ice that arrives after matters as much as what falls, so the salt goes down twice and the walks get checked again at first light. The name is a tall order; the plow does the answering.
