About APHIX

Winter in this valley rarely announces itself; it arrives as a wet Thursday that slips below freezing around two in the morning. That is the hour the work begins — headlights on a Hardin Valley lot, treatment going down before the first commuter turns off Pellissippi Parkway. Plowing here means reading a forecast that hedges and clearing anyway: drives and lots opened up, walkways scraped to bare concrete, then salted so a thaw at noon does not turn to glass by dusk. Knoxville can go a whole month without a flake and then hand over four inches overnight, and being ready for either version is the entire job. An empty, dry lot at sunrise is the only proof anybody needs.
