Your Lawn Man

About Your Lawn Man

September in Kingston softens everything — the humidity finally lets go, the Cumberlands stand blue on the horizon past the river, and a yard cut on a cool Saturday holds its look for days. Your Lawn Man goes mailbox to mailbox along these streets, mowing in even lines, trimming around the posts and the porch steps, edging so the walk shows its full width again. The name is meant literally: the same person who cuts the grass is the one who notices the low spot that stays wet and the strip by the road that always burns off first. Once the hardwoods start dropping, the leaves get blown up, gathered and hauled away before the rains pack them down. A yard looked after by someone who knows it is a different thing from a yard that just gets mowed.
