About Thompson Metal Services Inc.

Cold sits differently on a working yard — on steel, on gravel, on the rail lines that stitch through this end of Kingsport — and it takes far longer to let go. Thompson Metal Services Inc. handles snow removal across properties like those, plowing lots and access lanes, opening gates and dock approaches, shoveling the doorways where a driver has to step down. Big open pavement drifts fast in a valley wind, so the pushes get planned before the first flake lands. There is something plain and good about a yard that is ready to work at six in the morning. That is what gets left behind after every storm.
