About Jim's Lawn Center Inc.

The night before a storm, the lights are still on at the shop while the rest of Center Street has gone dark. Jim's Lawn Center Inc. spends that evening getting ready — blades checked, routes laid out, the order of the streets settled — because once it starts falling there is no time left to think about it. Then it is out early and out long: plowing driveways, opening lots, scraping the walkways where people will put their feet first. Kingsport snow rarely lasts the week, but it can shut a morning down cold if nobody moves it. Handing somebody back their driveway before they need it is the entire job.
