About Green Giant Outdoor Services, LLC

When the wind sets up out of the northwest, snow comes over Clinch Mountain and lands on the 11W side of Kingsport first. Green Giant Outdoor Services, LLC runs those nights, plowing driveways and clearing lots while it is still falling and the road crews are only starting their loops. Upslope snow is stubborn — it keeps coming long after the radar looks finished — so routes get run more than once and the ice underneath gets treated instead of ignored. There is a quiet hour around three in the morning when the whole valley is white and untouched and the truck is the only thing moving in it. By daylight the drives are open and nobody has to think twice.
