About Harris Development Co.

New streets go in around the edges of Johnson City every year, and the yards that come with them start as bare clay and a promise. Harris Development Co. tends ground at that stage — mowing, edging, trimming, seeding and feeding, mulch and bed work, and the seasonal cleanups that carry a young lawn until it knits into something able to take a summer. The first two seasons decide nearly everything; after that a yard mostly holds itself together. There is real pleasure in driving past a street you watched turn green. The mountains at the end of it were there the whole time, waiting for the view to be worth it.
