About Henderson Utility Department

Freezing rain in Chester County has a sound — sleet ticking on a metal roof, then the long pop of a limb somewhere past the streetlights. The Henderson Utility Department keeps its ground open through those nights, plowing and clearing yard access, walkways and service drives and treating ice so crews and trucks can get where they are needed. Snow may only visit West Tennessee a handful of days a winter, but those days ask for everything at once. Access is the entire point: a gate that swings, a lot with room for a bucket truck to turn. When the thaw comes by noon, that counts as a night well spent.
