Barrett Tree & Lawn Services

About Barrett Tree & Lawn Services

July in Green Hill arrives all at once — air thick by nine, cicadas loud in the hackberries, the cedar glades east of town gone pale and dry. Grass keeps growing through it anyway, and Barrett Tree & Lawn Services keeps to the schedule, cutting a little higher when the heat leans hard so the turf holds its color. There is a real satisfaction in finishing a yard at the hottest part of the afternoon and seeing it lie flat and even, the trimmer line clean around the mailbox post and the shed. Walks and driveways get blown off last, the way a room gets swept on the way out the door. From Green Hill over toward Lebanon and Gladeville, that is the work: week after week, one yard at a time.
