Sleet on a gravel lane out toward Kelso makes a sound nobody who has heard it forgets. Backyard Pit Stop is built for those nights and the mornings that follow — plowing, shoveling and salting drives, walks and parking areas so people in and around Fayetteville can get where they are going. A country driveway can run a long way from the road, and clearing one well is a matter of patience as much as horsepower. Ice storms do not visit southern middle Tennessee often, but when they do the whole county holds its breath. Somebody has to open the way back out, and that is the job.
