Howard's Turf Works

About Howard's Turf Works

High summer in Erwin means the ridge throws its shadow across town by late afternoon and the cicadas take over the sound of the place. Howard's Turf Works spends those long days on turf — mowing, trimming, edging, keeping lawns thick enough to shrug off an August sun. There is craft in it: reading how a yard drains, changing the mowing direction so the grass stands up, holding a straight edge along a curving walk. A finished lawn ought to look intentional from the mailbox and feel good underfoot at the back door. That is the result worth driving back for.
