About the grasscatcher

Few things carry a season like the smell of cut grass drifting down a street at seven in the evening. the grasscatcher works that hour and the ones ahead of it — mowing with the clippings picked up and hauled off, edging along the walks, trimming the fence lines, and cleanups when a yard needs more than a cut. Eagleton Village houses sit close to their lawns, porches almost within arm's reach of the grass, so bagging what comes off shows on the walk and on the front step. A finished yard here reads as one uninterrupted sweep — no windrows, no clumps left drying in the sun. The rounds take in Eagleton Village, Maryville, Alcoa, Rockford and Friendsville.
