About The Mulch Company

In April the hills around Dickson go white and pink at their edges — dogwood and redbud breaking out of the hardwoods above the Piney — and that is exactly when the beds show every bit of what winter did to them. The Mulch Company spends that stretch doing what the name says and a good deal besides: fresh mulch cut in clean against the turf, bed edging, trimming, mowing, spring cleanups, hauling off whatever fall left behind. Dark mulch against new fescue is one of the small pleasures of the season, a whole house front suddenly looking deliberate. Around Dickson, Burns, Charlotte and White Bluff, one Saturday of that work can carry a yard through to July. After that the grass takes over and the rhythm settles into mowing.
