Out at the water below Dayton, Chickamauga Lake holds the cold long after the fields have given it up, and some January mornings the whole shoreline comes up glazed. Arnold's Lawn Sharks plows and shovels through those mornings — driveways opened, walkways cleared, salt laid on the north-facing steps that never see sun. By April the same hands are behind the mowers, working the lake-road yards while the water goes silver in the afternoon. Trimming, edging and hauling off the season's clippings keep a place looking cared for from the road. Two very different kinds of weather, one steady habit of showing up for them.
