Follow the old highway west out of Crossville and the country opens toward Monterey, ridge after ridge of oak and pine with pasture tucked between. TLC works that corridor in both seasons, running mowers, trimmers and edgers while the grass is going and plows and shovels once winter takes the county over. Winter closes in hard at this elevation, and a drive opened up here is worth real money in saved trouble. Come April everything goes green again almost overnight and the mowing starts back up. Three letters, two seasons, one standard.
