King of Dirt

About King of Dirt

Snow comes into Marshall County over open ground, with no ridge tall enough to slow it — just fencerow after fencerow filling in white while the hayfields go quiet. King of Dirt plows the driveways, farm lanes and lots around Cornersville, working gravel and pavement alike until a truck can get out to the road without a running start. There's real satisfaction in a long lane opened end to end, banks cut square, the turnaround left wide enough to swing a trailer. Salting and ice control follow wherever shade holds and the afternoon melt freezes back over. When a storm parks itself above the ridges south of Lewisburg, the work starts in the dark and doesn't quit until the last walk is scraped down clean.
